Louis XI Tower from the outside – Royal City of Loches

The round tower with its machicolations stands at the end of the walls, next to the Governor's Lodge. Built in the 15th century to replace the old keep, it has walls up to 5 metres thick, but the end of the Hundred Years' War meant it never came under fire.
