La Vie – Marc Chagall – Maeght Foundation, Saint-Paul-de-Vence

A huge canvas swarms with acrobats, musicians, lovers, animals and a wedding couple around a blazing sun and a blue moon, mixing the circus, the Bible and the village of Vitebsk. Marc Chagall painted La Vie (Life) in 1964 for the Maeght Foundation, a summary of his whole world, and also designed the mosaic on the outside wall.
