L'Œuf – Joan Miró – Maeght Foundation, Saint-Paul-de-Vence

A large egg-shaped bronze, its dark surface marked with a few incised signs, rises from a shallow pool lined with blue-green tiles at the foot of the curving stone walls of the Labyrinth. Joan Miró placed this Egg, a symbol of birth and fertility, in the Labyrinth he created for the Maeght Foundation, inaugurated in 1964.
