Beaucaire castle, Beaucaire, France
The Château de Beaucaire is a ruined medieval castle first built by the Counts of Toulouse. It played an important part in the Albigensian Crusade and was dismantled on Richelieu's orders in the 17th century; its triangular keep still overlooks the Rhône. Photos taken in 2008.
