Festoman – Eduardo Arroyo – Maeght Foundation, Saint-Paul-de-Vence

A large poster shows the long-haired Bonaparte of the bridge of Arcole slanting across a blue sky, beside a column of Italian text praising Festoman. In 1964 the Milanese dealer Ivanhoe Trivulzio asked thirteen artists for paintings that were printed as cheap photolithographs and then burned in public; this poster is what remains of Eduardo Arroyo's Pont d'Arcole.
