Kyiv, Ukraine

Kyiv, on both banks of the Dnieper, is the capital of Ukraine and one of the oldest cities of Eastern Europe, the cradle of Kievan Rus'. Its Saint Sophia Cathedral and the Pechersk Lavra monastery are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This large gallery was photographed in 2007: Khreshchatyk Street, the Podil and Pechersk districts, the Lavra, St Sophia, the Dnieper and Hydropark, Mariinsky Park and several hotels.
