Chiang Mai, Thailand
Chiang Mai, about 700 km north of Bangkok, is the largest city of northern Thailand and the former capital of the Lanna kingdom. Its old city, surrounded by a moat and remains of walls, has more than 300 temples, and the city is overlooked by Doi Suthep. Photos taken on many visits between 2003 and 2026: the old city and its temples, the walking street, the Nimman district, Doi Suthep, the Mae Sa snake farm and aerial views.
